Help us Name our Golf Holes

Naming our Present 9 Holes

Many golf courses rely on numbers 1 through 18; however, naming your holes reflects on local history, physical hazards, native plants, and wildlife.  Next year, we will be getting new scorecards; there is a place on them that we can put the name for each hole.

There are common naming themes that golf courses use:

·        Flora and Fauna: name holes after specific trees or flowers

·        Hazards and Drama: name holes from the trouble they cause

·        Local History and Lore: name holes after local geography or historical events

·        Pop Culture and Themes: regional motifs

For the month of November, we will be taking your suggestions for names on each of our holes.   At the end of the month, we will take the top 3 names on each hole and send out a ballot for you to vote on the name for each hole.  The name that gets the most votes on each hole will be the name for the hole.

You can either drop your suggestions in the box at the counter, or you can email them to dchinaleong@rowleycountryclub.com, please put RCC Names for Holes in the subject line.  We hope this will a fun way to take the frustration out on the holes that gives golfers trouble or is something that is unique.
